I don’t know what it is but I prefer even numbered years. I always feel a bit off writing odd numbered years and can’t quite grasp it but when it is an even numbered year, I instantly catch on and feel more “right”. Maybe I am a little OCD, who knows.
So far, 2016 is pretty great. Hubby and I bought our first home together and to say we love it is an understatement.
Where we lived before never truly felt like home. Sure, that is where we lived and that’s where our belongings were and we were happy there, but it didn’t feel like “home”. The only place I got that feeling was at my parent’s house. But now that we are in our own place, it really does feel like home. I get that feeling every time I start to drive that direction. When I walk in the door, of course greeted by the three furry children, I just feel at home.
Of course with being new homeowners, we have welcomed some surprises. After our first night, we realized we had a little friend living in our kitchen. Ratatouille we will call him. Well, he died by trap, but since then we have found two more of his friends so we are on the fence if we should call someone out or wait until after this third one kicks the bucket.
Last night, I dipped my toes into making my own soy candles. Very happy with the results and will make a post later about how I did it and how they turned out!
I am also working on the “honey-do” list for the house and will post updates as we go along.
2016 is shaping up to be a great year. Homeowners, Disney & Universal in February, and I will be turning 30 in March. Unlike most people, I am excited at the new age and looking forward to an even better decade of my life.
